Dreamforce 2021: New Visions

Dreamforce 2021 was definitely an event like no other. A small, intimate live event in San Francisco paralleled with live-streamed and video content on the new Salesforce+ site.

The Dreamforce Keynote is always inspirational and this year was no exception.

“It’s always someday. Someday, the way we work will change. Someday, we’ll see customers as people, not data on a chart. Someday someone will change the world. But it’s funny, right? The future doesn’t ask for permission and yet we are responsible for what it becomes. Overnight, someday became today. And while we may have gotten here in a way we couldn’t see coming, there’s no going back, that’s not who we are, that’s not how we’re made. We’re asking different questions, we’re hearing different answers. Turns out we didn’t need a new version, we needed a new vision.

It’s time to connect with customers and employees in a whole new way because now, your HQ looks like this (shot of virtual office), not this (shot of cubicles). Now your customer expects this, but not this. So your employees can do more of this, instead of this and this. We’re bringing slack and Customer 360 together to reimagine how we work in this all-digital, work anywhere the world. Success from anywhere, anytime, in real-time. No, the future doesn’t ask for permission, neither do we. We’re building a new way to work and it’s for everyone. Let’s get back to growth, together. Let’s get back to trust, together. Let’s show that business can be the greatest platform for change, not someday. Today. Welcome to the trusted enterprise, welcome to Dreamforce.”

Nana Gregg, Solution Architect – VFP Consulting

As both a customer and a partner of Salesforce and FinancialForce, the message this year reinforced the values that we prioritize at VFP.

“Turns out we didn’t need a new version, we needed a new vision.”

When a customer decides to invest in new technology, it isn’t because they want to replicate the things they are doing now. It’s because they want to (sometimes need to) make a change. That’s why we work closely with our customers to ask the hard questions of themselves and their processes. Challenge the ‘way things have always been done to get to a clear Vision of the future.

“Success from anywhere, anytime, in real time.”

This new dispersed world means we have to work differently than ever before. With our customers AND our employees. Transforming the customer experience by implementing technology in such a way that it will allow our customers to Focus on getting it right externally and internally. Creating both Customer Centricity and Employee Centricity.

“Let’s show that business can be the greatest platform for change, not someday. Today.”

Change is hard, but when you approach it with excitement, when you engage with people you trust, and when you do it all with Passion, you will not only change your business but also the lives of your employees as well as your customer’s success.

To succeed you have to believe in something with such a Passion that it becomes a reality.
